It is characteristic of this propagation phenomenon between NA and AS on 6m that the opening between any given pair of stations is brief: One or two minutes is not uncommon. For this reason, stations on both sides, NA and AS, typically start QSOs by calling with the Tx2 message, thereby increasing the likelihood that both ends receive a signal report and an acknowledgement before the path is lost. The two exceptions containing Maidenhead locators were exactly that – exceptions, in which the AS caller started with the Tx1 message yet the QSO was still completed.
So yes, I believe it to be coincidental to the RST_RCVD logging issue. Ed N4II. And why do JAs en mass ignore locators which are fundamental in FT8 exchanges for the rest of us ? 73 de G4SWY Del +++ Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android <https://go.onelink.me/107872968?pid=InProduct&c=Global_Internal_YGrowth_AndroidEmailSig__AndroidUsers&af_wl=ym&af_sub1=Internal&af_sub2=Global_YGrowth&af_sub3=EmailSignature> On Sat, 17 Jul 2021 at 3:49, jan0--- via wsjt-devel <wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net <mailto:wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net> > wrote: I had a 6m FT8 JA run using WSJT-X 2.5.0-rc3 today. (I can, of course, send the file if desired.) Also, and perhaps most strangely, QSOs before and after the JA run have the correct RST_RCVD values logged. I could find no errors in the RST_SENT values before, during, or after the JA run.
