Hi All: I am running 2.5.0-rc5 on MacOS 10.14.6 Mojave.
I am interfacing WSJTX to a PA and sequencer and thus need to send the PTT signal to the sequencer, which will manipulate some relays and then key my rig. I have added a USB to serial converter that brings out DTR and am attempting to send the PTT signal from WSJTX in that manner, as per the User Guide. I am having trouble getting PTT method DTR to work consistently. WSJTX does indeed toggle DTR using, for example, the Tune pushbutton, but the behaviour is inconsistent. I have a Prolific USB to serial adapter that brings out DTR. When I run the open source “Coolterm” application and select the Prolific serial port (/dev/cu.usbserial) and toggle DTR through that program, DTR follows the selected state in Coolterm consistently and correctly. However, when I select the correct serial port (/dev/cu.usbserial again) and DTR as the PTT method in WSJTX, I can “Test PTT” and the initial toggling of the DTR line works correctly, but then the DTR line gets stuck “high” and I cannot get it lowered again except through multiple (and inconsistent) additional presses of “Test PTT”. There is no pattern to this. Another observation: if I use the main window and select “Tune” then DTR will go high (as expected) but if Tune is depressed for more than approximately two seconds then either a second press of Tune or a press of “Halt TX” will not lower DTR again. Again it is inconsistent. If I am crafty and keep pressing “Tune” several times then eventually DTR will go low again. The configuration cannot be used for PTT to my PA/sequencer as DTR is getting “stuck”. The fact that I can toggle DTR consistently and correctly through the other app would seem to indicate that the OS is seeing and interacting with the serial port properly. I am wondering if there is some additional configuration I might need in the wsjtx.ini file or something that will alleviate this problem. I am monitoring the state of DTR via an RS232 breakout board and a voltmeter. Once I have the DTR line tracking WSJTX TX/RX state properly then I already have a simple circuit which will transform the -6 / +6 volt RS232 signals to the proper levels for the sequencer. A web search and my cursory inspection of wsjtx.ini did not turn up any solutions or obvious config changes. Any assistance or additional information appreciated. 73, Kevin VE7ZD _______________________________________________ wsjt-devel mailing list wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/wsjt-devel
