There are a couple of options.  I build on SuSE Linux Enterprise (15.3) and the issue you bring up isn't an issue.

With that said, you can try rolling back the libraries to one that is functional.   Tumbleweed is a rolling forward release, well ahead of the Enterprise, as you already know.   Think of it in terms of the "fix" hasn't been invented yet.   Since Tumbleweed is at least a year or more ahead, I suspect that no one is going to work on a fix just yet.  Since it could change again in tomorrows release.   With Tumbleweed, you get what you get. Including all of the latest errors and bugs.  Don't expect anyone to jump on the error until the library reaches stability in either a Leap or Enterprise release.

The second option is to run SuSE Leap 15.3, which is stable and uses components from the Enterprise.  15.4 is in Beta test now, and WSJT-X builds and functions without error. Since it's beta test, I build weekly to verify function.  We should see Leap 15.4 released on schedule in June 2022.

Hello,

I ran WSJT-X on an openSUSE Tumbleweed system, Tumbleweed name explain the "ever-rolling philosophy" of this distribution which went updated daily.

Unluckily one of the negative effects of this is represented by possible breakouts of the application which was running with a different library, compiler, etc.

After the last system update I cannot start anymore my WSJT-X (I also tried to re-compile it against latest gcc, libs and so on without any positive result.

I got these errors in the log:

 wsjtx[7992]: segfault at 7ffc5bd57ff8 ip 00007efe93d38e73 sp 00007ffc5bd57ff0 error 6 in *libc.so.6*[7efe93cc4000+182000]

wsjtx[8186]: segfault at 7fffb5dbcff8 ip 00007f09fd3f1dce sp 00007fffb5dbd000 error 6 in *libQt5Core.so.5.15.2

*Which, despite I'm not a software developer, I understand that are caused by different libraries or symbolic links to expected libraries required by WSJT-X.

I would like to receive any suggestion in order to get rid of this error which is not allowing me to use the WSJT-X program.

Thanks in advance!*
