Sounds great but I have an iPhone. Thanks.

Hi Aaron,

If you have an Android phone or tablet I have an app which does everything you ask for and more.  If I may be allowed a bit of promotion, it will provide audible alerts by country, callsign (including by callsign prefix), continent, your callsign, etc.  You can also configure it to not alert you if the signal strength is below a specific threshold.  Since it's an app you can keep it running while watching TV, mowing the lawn, etc.  I like VHF so I use it to alert me when 6m or 2m is active.

It is WiFi only so it only works around the home, not across the cellular network.  At startup it shows you how to set up WSJT-X to send data to it.  It can work with JTAlert and GridTracker by using their forwarding feature (I have a web page which illustrates this).

(End of shameless promotion).

The app is WSJT-X Monitor Pro https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.feotec.wsjt_xmonitor.noads&hl=en_US <https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.feotec.wsjt_xmonitor.noads&hl=en_US> (paid) and WSJT-X Monitor, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.feotec.wsjt_xmonitor.ads&hl=en_US <https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.feotec.wsjt_xmonitor.ads&hl=en_US> , free version.

Hello. WY1P here; an Ubuntu Linux user. I operate FT-8. I've
been trying to get some type of audio alerts working to let me
know when there's a new DXCC country on the band, both overall and
per band. JTalert does not run on Linux, so I tried Gridtracker,
but (at least on Linux), its alerts either don't work /at all/ or
they alert for new DXCC when there is none. A total mess and
useless for me. JTDX has exactly the notification alerts that I
want, but (at least the Linux version) has an annoying issue:
Unless the receive cursor is on a place on the waterfall that is
*_dead quiet_*, it stops transmitting. Useless. Most of the time
there are no places on the waterfall quiet enough to allow it to
continue transmitting. There are other annoying things about it
also. I much prefer WSJT-X! But I need simple audio alerts...

So I was wondering if the developers of WSJT-X would consider
incorporating the same kind of simple beep alerts that JTDX has.

Thank you for all you do.
