Hello Michael,

No problem.

I've already got a volunteer.

Thanks for the offer.

Just for you information....
About 85,000 lines all in C
Needs GNU compilers so we use JTSDK to compile on Windows and default compilers
on Linux and MacOS and other unix boxes.
There are bindings for python, perl, tcl, Visual Basic, php, and LUA

If one is not comfortable with C pointers than one really shouldn't be doing
any extensive C...it's an integral part of understanding the language.

Hello Michael,

Before I would commit to this I would need lots more information.

If someone volunteers for this then drop me out instantly!

Are you a one man group or do you have helpers?  Surely there should be
some hotshot developers who are hams and who could take this on!

How many lines of code and what types of code files besides vanilla C
source?
     - I have an older C compiler.  I would entertain upgrading that.
     - I have experience with C.

What compiler(s) are required (Microsoft, GNU, etc.?)

Pointers in C can get fairly exotic.  What is your code like in that regard?

How do you protect against loss of files?  Some code repository, such as
GIT?

How often are there bugs that need fixing?

How much information does one need to have about all the rig types in
order to code in the correct commands etc.

More questions from me may follow if you can't find someone AND  _IF_  I
start getting deeper.

I'm looking for someone to take over Hamlib due to health problems.
Mostly written in C so would take someone fairly C knowledgeable.

Any volunteers can be a co-pilot for a while to learn while fixing some
of the outstanding issues and any bugs that come up to help bring you up
to speed.
