Thank you for your prompt reply.
Even though I thought I had OpenSSL on this computer, I installed the
package, and this time "Fetch Now" worked. What has me confused is that
this was working on 2.6.1. I have been using this computer (originally
Win 10, now Win 11) for almost 4 years, with no problems of this type. I
never got the error message on startup of WSJT-X associated with this
problem.
Also, I notice that the version of OpenSSL (1.1.1) recommended in the
user guide is coming to end-of-life in September. Is it advisable to
install a later version? I know that there are times when later versions
of some apps don't always work well with other apps.
