wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.netUwe,

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Even though I thought I had OpenSSL on this computer, I installed the package, and this time "Fetch Now" worked. What has me confused is that this was working on 2.6.1. I have been using this computer (originally Win 10, now Win 11) for almost 4 years, with no problems of this type. I never got the error message on startup of WSJT-X associated with this problem.

Also, I notice that the version of OpenSSL (1.1.1) recommended in the user guide is coming to end-of-life in September. Is it advisable to install a later version? I know that there are times when later versions of some apps don't always work well with other apps.

Hi Jim,

This is something for Brian, N9ADG. He programmed this feature. Have you followed the steps described in chapter 3.1 of the user guide and installed the Windows OpenSSL Packages <https://slproweb.com/products/Win32OpenSSL.html>?

When I click "Fetch Now" in the "Logbook of the World User Validation section, I get an error stating:
