So with the last few decodable transmissions on 12m with K8R I sent these to "DX SUMMIT". You can still read them there.

AF8C-@ | 24911.12| K8R | 21:44 28 Jul | off freq | American Samoa
AF8C-@ | 24911.0 | K8R | 21:42 28 Jul | freq too high | American Samoa

He was drifting up in frequency until eventually he was no longer being decoded by all the people who continued to call him when they didn't notice (my opinion) he had drifted out of range.

At 21:42 I noticed he was off frequency (more than 100 Hz). By 21:44 I had tuned up 120 Hz on my VFO and was decoding him fine. Now his 750 Hz was really close to 750 Hz. There was no problem decoding his signal. But all the SuperHounds that were on 24911.00 were calling forever with no luck.

Then I did some sanity checks.

1 WWV on 10000.00 MHz USB on my rig was right on frequency. So probably my rig had not drifted instead of K8R. Rig: TS590SG.

2 Some SuperHounds had been drifting up also.

3 Other SuperHounds were NOT drifting up. More confirmation my rig was
not drifting.

4 ALL.TXT data is available from here if anyone wants to see it.

Hypothesis: the radio in the RIB was heating up inside the enclosure and was drifting. NCDXF might study that as a possible problem.

One solution: watch his frequency and follow him up. Doing so will
not affect trying for a QSO from the SuperHound side. (Useful for
Jarvis?)

Could some of the many "can't contact" complaints from the Hound side on this reflector be related to failure to recognize the problem?

(This report was delayed by my being on vacation.)

SO: what is the frequency tolerance of 750 Hz tone for successful decoding?

750 +/- 100 Hz
