In WSJT-X I can change Settings/Radio/Mode to None and it seems to leave the mode alone. Split is obviously still active and changing to CW on both VFO’s (RX and TX) while WSJT-X is monitoring, it quite happily updates CW RX frequency. I just want it to do the same for Split TX frequency and I believe that only happens on WSJT-X TX, not Monitoring RX.
