Hi Howard,

One possible reason for the loss of the sound device is that W11 did an update
and re-enumerated sound devices in your PC. You may get is back in wsjt-x by
selecting another sound device in the (Settings) Audio tab and then reselect
the correct USB soundcard. You may need to go out of the Autio window using the
OK button before the reselection. Sometimes just disconnecting the USB cable
and reconnecting it may re-enumerate the sound device correctly.

Another possibility is that you opened wsjt-x before powering up ts890s.

The third one is that W11 update also changed Audio security settings to the
default and wsjt-x cannot any more access to your microphone. I think you need
to go into the advanced audio settings of your PC.

Subject: [wsjt-devel] WSJT-X 2.6.1 Error in sound input TS890s

Hi Charlie,

I'm hoping you can help me with this, if not then please pass me on to someone
who can...

Wsjt-x has been working perfectly for years until today.

I went to use it today and found I have no audio input from my ts890s. WSJT-X
reports "Error in sound input - an error opening the radio input device has
occurred"

I sm using a windows 11 PC and cat control via USB.

I think all the settings in Wsjt-x are correct. I don't know if this us a
WSJT-X, PC or ts890 issue. I am no PC expert, and don't want to make things
worse than they already are.

Would appreciate some guidance to sort this out please.

Thanks and 73

Howard G4CCH
