There is no need for your feature request. WSJT-X should not be using the only audio device available to your computer, or put it another way, X should not be using the windows default audio device.
Add a simple sound card usb dongle (less than $10 on Amazon). Use that for WSJT-X, use the default Windows audio device for your warnings. Or...if you have a modern radio with USB interface, use the Radio's USB interface for both Audio and CAT control in WSJT-X, and use the computer's default sound card for alerts from WSJT-X.
