Hi Folks,

The current frequency correction algorithm in wsjtx appears to average
many measurements at a few key frequencies, then linearly interpolates
correction factors across the entire range of frequencies and bands in
use. This assumes a y=mx+b type of linear frequency error which doesn't
work in radios that have various crystals bandswitched in, or band modules
etc.

It also is an application wide setting. This is problematic in
situations where somebody might want to save radio settings as
configurations and use a copy of wsjtx with several radios. (Spoiler alert
- my FT-736r is several khz off at 1296 (corrected). When I swapped the
radio for an FT-991 to get on 432, I forgot that the correction factor was
still active, and was severely off frequency. )

I'd like to respectfully ask that you consider 2 changes:

  1) Make any correction scheme be included at the configuration level,
rather than application wide.

  2) Implement a "per band" correction factor scheme, where fixed
correction factors could be entered and used for each band.

  Thanks for any consideration!
