I changed it to distinguish between file upload and file download but Im happy to change it back if you like.
For the windows path I didn't want to change the existing behavior because so much changed underneath. The current file_field in watir 1.8.1 does not do anything to the path so I felt it was safer not to touch it just yet. Thanks!
