This is similar to the Linux kernel limitation, which is 512kbps, or  
around 60kb/s.  Solaris is obviously the same speed as you have  
noted.  Under Mac OS X and Windows XP/Vista with my MacBook Pro I  
obtained speeds of 130kb/s sustained during non-peak hours on Sprint  
EVDO using a Novatel EX-720 (ExpressCard) but under Solaris as with  
Linux I've heard that the Merlin and AirConnect cards are all limited  
to 512kb/s because of the USB serial driver.  This was noted by  
Sprint themselves and can be found by looking on evdoforums.
