I don't know whether I am in the Linked Data scene ;-), but I am convinced that bNodes can be useful. For example, if I have a lot of value nodes that hold together quantities and units of measurement. In such cases is pretty much unnecessary to ever reference to that node individually from outside the model in which they are defined, so using bNodes seems to be perfectly okay. Plus, you avoid the risk of URI collision by accidently reusing an existing URI.

For me, bNodes can be in the RDF world what local variables are in programming.

Also, re blank node solution - I thought it was blank node solution
PLUS the "short-cut" properties, as to provide backwards compatibility
and easy use wit vCard 2006, so we don't *force* people to use blank
nodes unless they need them. Correct?

Note that there are some in the Linked Data scene who believe bNodes
to be obsolete / old fashioned / annoying, and claim that modern RDF
shouldn't use them.

cheers,

Dan
