Hello Klaas,

you should get www.wxart2d.org anyway. I could get it for free, but I think it's yours :-)

I was thinking the same to day, and ask for DNS service at my provider, in order to link it to my home server. Which has an upload of 100Kbyte/sec.
Or if that does not help any other server.

Where do i get it for free?? I think it does not cost much but for free i did not know.

I think wxart2d does not have the necessary amount of users (active and passive) to justify a virtual server, wiki, tracker and so on of its own.

Agreed.

- extending http://wiki.wxwidgets.org/WxArt2d to have all the docs there in a subwiki of its own.

Maybe, but i am not sure.

- I would minimize wxart2d.sf.net to a proper homepage, but nothing else.
- Focus all news towards the forum/ mailing list, no need to maintain a blog or frequent update to the homepage

Even sourceforge has a wiki, don't think i will use it.
But for documentation, i am searching for a wiki that can be used offline.
MoinMoin can do that, they have a desktop version.
So the docs can be downloaded, and viewed using a wiki engine.
Also because i want to link the doxygen docs with the wiki.

- Keep the cvs (though zip files would be nice for starters).

That is oke on sourceforge. I just did not have a release yet, meaning more work to do.

Would be a one-time migration effort, but you save all the admin effort in the future and could focus on development and user support.

That i like.

What do you think? Do you know some of the maintainers or admins at wxWidgets?

I want to combine documentation, website and doxygen generated documentation into one big thing. And upload that thing to where its needed.

Maybe i want to much. But at the same time i think that will save me time in the end. Just because it one thing with all in it. And also important for me, i can maintain it off line, which will become important one day for my future plans, where i will be on slow connection again ;-) In fact that is my problem with a online wiki solution as only documentation source, one has to be online!

Regards,

Klaas
