Hi, Haris,

It's probably best to keep this discussion on the list -- that way others
can find it in the archives if they run into similar problems.

Installing imp.runtime is a normal part of the installation that is
currently missing from our installation instructions. We will update them
shortly.

As for the other errors, do you see anything in the error log view? I've
been told that the "invalid thread access" error may signify that
3.3-level plugins are used with a 3.2 installation of Eclipse. Can you
please go to "Help->About Eclipse SDK", click on "Configuration Details",
save the result into a file (you may need to copy/paste), and attach that
file? You might also want to click on "View Error Log" in the
"Configuration Details" dialog and attach the file that shows up in the
browser.

The above will help us diagnose the problem quicker.
Thanks,
        Igor

Re: [X10-users] Eclipse installation help, anyone pleeese!!

Hello Igor,
thank you very, very much for your help.

I followed website directions how to instal X10DT (I did ti again a minute
ago on my G5 Mac) using Eclipse 3.2.2.
(I just had to update imp.runtime from
http://eclipse-imp.sourceforge.net/updates/)
I had no problem installing Polyglot, LPD, SAFARI/IMP and X10DT,
everything went smooth.

I attached few screenshots on the first IMP error, then "Invalid thread
access" and what I get when I try to open some X10 stuff.
I hope this helps.

I can not create x10 project (getting invalid thread) but if I ignore that
and write my code then run application as x10 application, code runs fine.

My plugins are listed in the "plugins.png" screenshot.

here is my java version:

hariss-power-mac-g5:~ haris$ java -version
java version "1.5.0_13"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_13-b05-237)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_13-119, mixed mode, sharing)

I have the same problem with x10 on my G5 mac and my XP at home. Identical
errors.
I use command line interface on one of the Linux boxes running FreeBSD.

What am I doing wrong?

Again, I really appreciate your help.

Haris

Hi, Haris,

Can you please describe the exact errors/behavior you're getting
when you try to create an X10 project?

When you say that your x10 code is working, do you mean that running
it as an "X10 application" from the "Run As..." menu works?

What are the exact versions of your x10 plugins (see
Help->About->Plug-in Details)? We need that information for
x10.common, x10.compiler, x10.runtime, x10.uide, polyglot, and lpg.

Thanks,
       Igor
