Mikio,
Thanks a million for looking at my problem. I rebuilt from a fresh checkout
(git clean -d -x -f ; git reset --hard ),
and the build of the target "dist" went fine. (I suspect that the
"squeakyclean" target may not have completely done what was necessary after
the
errors on my first build [ JAVA_HOME pointed to the JRE, not the JDK].
To build the documentation target I had to revert to Java 7. (This issue is
documented in XTENLANG-3508
<https://xtenlang.atlassian.net/browse/XTENLANG-3508>
with a fix promised for X10-2.6.1 ).
Apparently, a full build did not occur under Java 7. For some reason
"x10.dist/lib", and "x10.dist/include"
were not populated during a build with Java 7.
Hopefully, the testing will work out well and I can get back to studying.
Once again thanks for taking an interest. It did help me get back on track.
John.
