Yeah, patches are certainly welcome from anyone who wants to tackle issues like

#ifdef's are compile-time mechanisms.  The same binary runs on multiple OS 
versions, so it would need to be a runtime check if you wanted to support 
multiple styles.  Personally, I'd prefer to see the edge-resize even on Snow 
Leopard because the grab handle can block content.
