Apologies if this turns out to be a red herring.
I regularly, almost daily, run "brew upgrade" to upgrade all packages.
I notice that when I launch XQuartz on an account where it works,
I see /sbin/launchd starts /opt/X11/bin/xterm. Is this configurable?
might I have broken it?
I run vncserver which is an alternate X11 server on Linux, and
vncviewer on any Mac account (and iPhone) with no problems.
I once tried to start vncserver on Mac, where it failed.
might this have broken XQuartz?
