Hi list,

as I'm still trying to figure out what exactly happened here (https://lists.berlios.de/pipermail/x2go-dev/2011-December/003122.html), I'm looking for the following two packages in these specific versions:

libxcompext3=1:3.5.0-1-0~x2go-bpo1+lenny~main~36~build1
libxcompshad3=3.5.0-2-0~x2go-bpo1+lenny~main~24~build1

Does anybody know which repository I have to enable to be able to pull exactly those?

So far I tried:

deb http://packages.x2go.org/debian lenny main
  ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
  This is the right one.

deb http://packages.x2go.org/debian lenny heuler
  ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
  does not exist...

deb http://packages.x2go.org/debian squeeze main
deb http://packages.x2go.org/debian squeeze heuler
  ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
  no lenny backports in those...

If you enable more than the correct repos, you get the newest package in terms of alphanumerical comparison...

but I keep getting
apt-get install libxcompext3=1:3.5.0-1-0~x2go-bpo1+lenny~main~36~build1 libxcompshad3=3.5.0-2-0~x2go-bpo1+lenny~main~24~build1

On squeeze+ please use the packages currently in heuler and report your experiences with stability. I would love to move those NX packages in heuler to main (i.e. considered stable by upstream) but I need more feedback on that. This has been agreed with Oleksandr yesterday in a chat session.

And a related question, directed @Mike:

Is there a particular reason why the "squeeze main" repository doesn't contain
libxcompext3=2:3.5.0-0~x2go1+squeeze~heuler~20111206~128~build1
libxcompshad3=2:3.5.0-0~x2go1+squeeze~heuler~20111206~128~build1
???

Yes, the packages are new and the way they are built is new. And they work much better than everything else we have built from NX code in Git. The packages in squeeze main are non-Git packages provided by Oleksandr as the packages from Git till September 2011 were really unstable (regular, reproducible session crashes related to x2goagent).

==>Running freenx and x2go in parallel seems to be impossible with libxcompext3=1:3.5.0-1-2 and libxcompshad3=3.5.0-2-2 from "squeeze main", however installing either the old versions listed at the very top of this posting, or the unstable ones from "squeeze heuler" fixes the issue. Do these two "squeeze heuler" packages break something else, or would it be possible to offer them via "squeeze main"?

Yes, the new package build of NX (heuler) repos should make the parallel install of freenx and x2go possible again. I also want to fix ,,our'' nxagent, so that it can be used with FreeNX, as well.

Kind Regards,
Stefan

Greets,
Mike
