I am sorry I cannot help here, I don't know the internal/possibilities
of sshlib nor how x2go handles its ssh configuration in detail. Maybe
Ionic call tell you more.

If you have frequent IP changes  you should setup a proper name
resolution for the hosts. Then you do not need to maintain IPs in x2go
connections.
