Hi !
Our makefiles doesn't support the given configuration, but right now I can't think about any reason why it shouldn't work.
You may look at the AIX/gcc configuration in $XALANCROOT/Makefile.incl.in to get the idea how  the port should be done.

I'm trying to build xalan-c 1.8.0 with ICU support on HP-UX 11.23 IA64, using GCC, but w/o success.
Is it anybody who build xalan-c on HP-UX, using GCC?
 
Any suggestions/help is appreciated.
