Purely personal reaction: 1) Not everyone has Word, or a Word reader, installed. 2) Not everyone trusts that Word's support for VB "and stuff" is actually secure, even in the Word Reader. BOTH are massive overkill for "a simple list" -- too powerful, too large, too much infrastructure required. Whenever possible, stick with plaintext.
