Nope, it compained about missing Makefile.ins in the child directories. So I just untarred it again and did a runConfig - worked fine, except I had to remove -instances=static form the makefile. Is that going to bite me when this compile finishes? That's news to me -- they have the same build process that we have, since we ripped of theirs to create ours (hence the appearance of util/XML4CDefs.hpp). You should be able to use their runConfigure script, unless you're adding a new platform. At any rate, did changing that line of configure.in work? Dave
