Yes, that support is scheduled for the next release:

However, you do not need to use the Xerces DOM for XSLT transformations.

Hello,

I was surprised to learn that Xalan 1.4 uses the deprecated DOM from the
Xerces 2.1 distribution.  Is there any plan to make Xalan use the new
Xerces C++ DOM binding (formerly known as IDOM)?
