The time is all being taken up prior to the first XSL template being executed. ie if I put an xsl:message in the root match template the message comes out a split second before the process completes. So the loading time has gone up from 5s to 12s. The attached source document is 3.5Mb. I have replaced all the attributes and content with garbage to protect our IP so it doesn't meet the DTD but it still exhibits the longer load time.
