Xalan Corresponding version for Xerces 1.7.0

Since I did not succeed to build any version of Xerces-C++ posterior to the 1.7.0 (I'm 
working with Borland C++ Builder 6 on a Windows 2000 platform), which compatible 
version of Xalan shall I try to use, and how can I get it ?
