Recommended way to bridge Xerces to Xalan DOM

Now that some of the old Xerces DOM classes have been deprecated, what 
is the best way of bridging a Xerces DOM into a Xalan DOM? Should I just 
use XercesDocumentBridge? If I construct that with a DOMDocument will I 
get a fully bridged XalanDocument?
