Hi, Will future releases of Xalan-J definitively support XSLT 2.0 and XPath 2.0?
I searched the user and dev mailing lists and found only 4 year old postings that say that there will be XSLT 2.0 implementations in future Xalan-J Releases. Furthermore I found the xslt20/ and xslt20-compiled/ branches in the SVN repositories, but 4 years passed since the last checkin, too. In another mail-archive (not in a apache related) I found a posting that claimed that a apache programmer has said that there won't come any implementations for the new specifications, because the management does not agree with them. I'd like to use the great new features of XSLT 2.0 in my diploma thesis and would even be willing to purchase a Saxon-SA license for testing my stylesheets, iff the users of my "product" will be able to use a free XSLT 2.0 processor later on. But if there are no plans for an implemantation, it would be great, if I get to know, because then I won't hang on a stillbirth. If anyone knows: are there any other implementations (coming) of the specs??? Greets, Johannes Neubauer.
