Another feature I would like to have, is an easy way for using an
existing DOM tree as the input of a XSLT script.

A XSLT to "native" Java compiler would be great, too.

The Batik project could benefit from an implementation, too. XSLT
transformations on an SVG-DOM could manipulate an SVG document...
