I've had to delay Xalan documentation for several weeks.
I am currently busy securing Microsoft BizTalk and MSMQ Queues for several high-priority security projects. These projects require FIPS 140-2 Level2 security. I am also preparing a a library that may support Level3 security on MSMQ open queues. I hope to be back working with Xalan the first of February. I will also try to get some student help with building and validating Xalan-C BuildBots to support a release of Xalan-C. Here is a status report of some resent changes to the Xalan-C subversion tree. Thanks to Michael Glavassevich for current updates to the NOTICE files and copyright information. The Xalan Transformer now supports Top-Level parameters of type String, Nodeset, and Number. I am planning to incorporate this capability into the Xalan command line and also a sample program with documentation. There is a branch for Xalan documentation. It contains the current development effort to get a new look-and-feel to the Xalan project website. It contains paths for C, Java, and the top-level site. See: [Apache-SVN]/xalan/c/branches/XalanDocs While working on the documentation, I also spent time fixing code base issues relating to empty nodesets which would otherwise cause alerts and program faults. With the assistance of other developers, many of these problems have been resolved. The subversion tree for Xalan-C (Version 1.11) has Microsoft build support for VC7.1, VC8, VC9, and VC10. Users are building Xalan-C for AIX, HP-UX, Linux, and Solaris. I give special thanks to: Michael Glavassevich for updating the copyright information and his support on the Xalan-J project. And his support for getting the branding requirements addressed. Michals is also a great contributor to the Xalan-J project Gary Gregory for his resent work on the Xalan-J project. Gareth Reakes in support of ApacheCon and the Xalan project. Bertrand Delacretaz for helping to get Xalan PMC reorganized. David Bertoni for his efforts as Xalan PMC Chair. Martin Elzen and Tobias Schuette for their efforts in qualifying new Top-Level parameter classes for Xalan Transformer. From to Google Summer of Code, we have some minor support from Tim Clotworthy, Xun Long Gui, David Carver, Jasper Steen Moller, Victor Wang, and Gui Xin Long. User support assistance from Vinnay Kumar, and Saurabh Bhatnagar. Tim Williams for giving guidance for new committers on behalf of the Apache PMC. -- Sincerely, Steven J.
