What if it is beneficial (mobile operator, fault tolerance, redundancy, etc) to have _both_ the radio display _and_ the xastir display (and, with a bit of hacking, the GPS waypoint display as well)? Example: driver of vehicle operating solo. Use D700 display for quick status while driving; computer display is too detailed to safely take in anything useful while driving. xastir display is available for detailed info when vehicle is stopped and driver can safely operate the computer. I personally experienced this one weekend before last. My current solution to the problem is a little PIC decoder on the D700 audio port to decode the packets for xastir, or if I have room and hardware throw a separate radio into the mix for 144.39/xastir use. -Jason kg4wsv _______________________________________________ Xastir mailing list [email protected] http://lists.xastir.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/xastir
