In case anyone doesn't recognize what this means, Xastir _does_
handle items just fine, so try sucking in the .POS file as an Xastir
log file (File->Open Log File) and see if you get items showing up
on your map.  Turn off transmit of objects/items (Interface->Disable
Transmit:Objects/Items) and you're set.

Try it and see.  I don't have any handy and haven't found any in
some quick searches.

Found one:  No go.  They're not item format in the one I found.
