So, what you're clarifying is that you originally meant to say:

If you want*ONLY*  local APRS-IS traffic AND weather alerts via Internet,

And in that case, you better not give the m/ filter to the Firenet connection.

That is decidedly not true.  Firenet gets a full feed of everything on the
APRS-IS as well as it's own local stuff.  Firenet has the superset and is
the only connection you need for this type of operation.
