I only have one bit of feedback:  I think it's great that a package maintainer
has joined this mailing list.  The few remaining xastir developers simply have 
no time to maintain packages for any binary distributions, and barely enough 
time to do any coding.  

One of the big problem's we've seen in the past is that while many Linux
distros have xastir in their package management systems, many are maintained
by folks who are not Xastir users and who do not follow the discussions and
announcements here.

By following this list and keeping abreast of whatever development happens,
your package will be less likely to suffer from the extreme lag time we've
seen in other distros.  

And if your package can be shared among all the Debian variants (including
the various Ubuntus (LTS and otherwise)), that'd be a boon.
