Thanks for the ::thwak:: Fred,
I just did a clean install of Fedora 9 on my HP nx9500 laptop. Then did
an Xastir install following the instructions in the 'how to' section of
the Xastir documentations area of the wiki. All looks good!

I up dated the Fedora Howto while I was there. Changed the references to
ImageMagick to GraphicsMagick.
As to the Xastir rpm for Fedor. Cool - that was submitted for
consideration via the Fedora-Hams group a few months back. I knew it had
been accepted and was going to be released. Nice to hear it's being
found too! Xastir is officially part of the Fedora Distro now. (even if
it's not included on the DVD, it is in the repositories).

A quick note to mention that I just did a fresh install of the new
Fedora 9 on my Toshiba notebook - no problems at all. There are some
issues of course but the install went fine.
To my surprise there was a rpm file of Xastir 1.9.2, which also
installed flawlessly. It even put an icon in my Applications menu which
started Xastir with a mouse click. Thanks to the people who created the
rpm. This should be great for new users of Xastir. Now, to install the
other programs needed to do a CVS upgrade.
