Ok after a reboot I can load Xastir and it says that it connects to the radio
tnc ok but the computer and the radio are not talking to one another. I know
this because I can hit the transmit button and nothing happens on the radio.
I tried GtkTerm but I don't know how to input to it so that I can talk to the
tnc but the last time I tried to use it it seemed to be connected properly.
There is only one difference between the non-working d700 interface files (a
HEADRLN command in the non-working) and the working interface file. Baud rate
and port configuration are the same on both set-ups.
I wondering if this Xastir is just too much for this old laptop which seems odd
to me because I ran UiView under Win98 on it for years.
I'm so confused...
