Hi Gerry I don't know Fluxbuntu - but don't think its to far a variation of Ubuntu for basic communications like ttyS0 and so on.. I would suggest Jim does *ps -aux | grep ttyS* into a terminal that's stretched full-width of the screen to grab as much detail as possible (naturally there is others ways but keep it simple for now... )
Lets see what the whole of this brings please. ps -aux | grep ttyS I can't imagine either -the next stage might be user permissions and whether sudo is or isnt being used to run Xastir (frankly I forgot whether mine is at this point..!) however its past 1am here and I'm due back in work tomorrow morning after holidays. So I have to go - I'll take a look later on at work... ;) Jim can you get on anything like MSN or Yahoo or IRC to chat? I'd not say I'm anything of an expert with Ubuntu but this should provide a little evidence to move forward.
