:-) I just installed the latest (1.9.5) of xastir, and the first thing I see different is it now has "Igate Logging". What does this do? In fact, there is a bunch of logging options. Is there an explanation somewhere of what these are used for?

Any of the logging functions are intended to keep track of those
types of info in ~/.xastir/logs/ directory, and roll them over when
they get to a certain size. You can look in that directory after
turning on the options to see what they've collected.

Thanks guys for making a great program even better. Keep up the good work, but be sure to have some fun along the way!!! (That goes for you Curt, and you too, Gerry) ;-)
