Hi, Chris:

I live on the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay, due east of Baltimore.
I'd like to see local AIS traffic and (if we can figure out how to do it) to
upload received traffic to our club's website.

Separately, I have an AIS receiver on our boat, and would like to beacon our
own AIS information, using the onboard Internet connection (Air Card).

Bill

My buddy and I are working on a seperate project involving AIS, so I plan to
eventually get the data into Xastir. We will probably make a javaprs style
filterable internet stream gateway first, (already partly finished) then I
might add my decoding routings into Xastir.

Are you looking to just connect to an Internet gateway to snoop on the
world, or connect/decode a local receiver for your local area?

I would be interested in hearing about any other projects too. We are
working with the marinetraffic.com group that has a really good web mapping
interface to their database.

Pretty soon our boat will be beaconning both APRS and AIS... :)

Chris.
