Yes, I contacted AddonScriptorDE, otherwise I wouldn't do this right now :(
We agreed to this solution on XBMCnerds.com. The add-ons TLC and DMAX are
provided via AddonScriptorsDE's repository, because of that I couldn't know
of his add-ons. So we can't say their is an original one, but I think his
add-on was in his repository first :). His repository seems to be used by
many users but he updates mostly or only his repository instead of the
official, I don't know.
But the situation is as follows:
I want to provide TLC and DMAX in the official repo, because the old one
doesn't work anymore. The TLC and DMAX add-on by AddonScriptorDE is only
available through his repository. Because of the same ID and the use of
min. 2 repositories will not work. We override our add-ons on and
on...version by version.
If I don't provide with a new ID in the official repo, no DMAX (at least),
only if the user out there add an additional repository.
I hope this helps. So the question if my add-on has any advantage won't
work, because it wasn't even in the official repo, but it is widely used
via third party repositories, so it seems. My question would be, do you
wan't working add-ons in the official repos. instead of providing add-ons
via third party repositories. Additional repositories are not bad, but I
think XBMC should provide some basic add-ons of it's own.
I hope my wording does not sound too harsh :)
