Anna, There's no specific place I can recommend. What I generally recommend for those driving up from Illinois is to get a hotel room in Madison. But since you're looking for rustic living quarters that won't do. Here are a few ideas: Here's a B&B that is in an absolutely wonderful setting. It high on a remote hill yet is only a short drive from Spring Green and Governor Dodge State Park. I've never stayed there but I've been to the site. http://www.lodging-wi.com/htmdocs/lodging_search/details.php3?custid=2753 http://www.silverstarinn.com/ You'll find this and other options by searching the lodging-wisconsin site. You can select cross country skiing as a search criteria. Be advised, however, that this doesn't necessarily mean there are groomed trails on-site. In fact, I suspect that will be hard to find. http://www.lodging-wi.com/ Based on the results I got, it looks like places with both cottages and cross country skiing tend to be located near Lake Geneva or the Dells. I've copied this message to the XC list, perhaps some one on that list can help. To subscribe to the XC list see: http://www.danenet.org/madnord/comments.html Cheers, Joe -- Joseph J.
