Dear Prez Jimmy, Mr. President, I hope this finds you because I did not have any other Email addresses for the club. I think that we need to have an 'advanced' ski clinic on Wednesday evenings. I cannot possibly make any teaching by 6:00PM, but I do have experience teaching skiing. I am also planning on finishing my 25th - 28th ski marathons this year (two states as well as Sweden), so I have some experience. (If anyone would be intersted, I could share experiences from the Marcialona, Dolomitenlauf, Engadin, Birkebeiner Rennet, and Vasaloppet). I also have worked as a ski instructor for the Madison Nordic Ski Club in the past, for the kids and teenagers....when we still had children at home. I am past the kids stage of life, but I would be willing to help out with adults. The 6:00 PM time is simply too early for people that have full time jobs. However, I would like to suggest that we have an 'open' clinic on Wednesdays at 7:30 PM (with would take care of Ian Duncan's remark and keep some time for the ladies). I will be up at Telemark next Wednesday, but I will volunteer to help at a later time. Because I agree with the comment that "all of the men will volunteer to be instructors", then so be it! I have found that it is very useful to have someone else watch me ski and to make comments. This could be an excellent way for anyone improve their technique. We could also video tape people, then meet to review the tapes over a beer or two. Many members of the Club are also likely to have ski tapes prepared by professionals, and these would be fun to review. We could compare our technique to that of Bjorne Dahle! Rich
