Last week I asked this list if we wanted to continue to get ski condition reports. There are several email sources, right now we are getting reports from three of them. Here are the results of our survey. Respondents: 6 Keep the reports: 3 Get just Ron's report: 1 Stop all of the reports: 2 This is a good response rate for a list with 30 subscribers. Original Question: > Well, some one on our list prefers not to get the ABR trail > reports. As list admin, I would like to hear from the rest of > you. > > 1. Do you want condition reports from ABR and other northern > locations from several sources? > > 2. Do you want one report, like Ron Bergins? > > 3. Would you rather not get any trail reports? > Some of you pointed out that most of these reports are available elsewhere. It is also true that anyone on this list can subscribe themselves (ABR has a web page for this). A number of people suggested limiting the reports to a single message summarizing conditions around the state (i.e. Ron Bergin's reports). On the other hand, a number of people were comforted by the idea that when they wanted them, these ski reports would be handy. Almost all of these respondents pointed out that it only takes a second to delete these messages. So I'll make no change this season. With this experience and a more mature list, we will revisit this decision next season. Thanks to all the respondants. It says good things about the future of this list. Cheers, Joe -- Joseph J.
