Under sunny skies yesterday (Sunday, February 11) with a high of 18 degrees F, conditions for skating and striding were excellent. The base was firm (hard-packed powder), and the striding track was in great shape. With an unexpected 4-inch snowfall this morning (Monday, February 12), skiing this afternoon was an effort.
The entire trail system was groomed Friday night, February 9, 2001. The skating lane received touch-up grooming Sunday, February 11. With today's (Monday, February 12) accumulation of 4 inches of powder, grooming of most of the EastSideTrail (segments that correspond to the race course) was initiated this evening; the WestSideTrail is scheduled for grooming Tuesday evening.
