CROSS COUNTRY SKI TRAIL REPORT
March 9, 2001
CURRENT WEATHER:Sunny. High temps near 35F. Snow depths in woods remain near 24". Trail bases remain 6-12" or more and
very solid.
FORECAST: Possible snow on Sat. with temps around 30F.
Note: With recent warming and overnight freezing, many trails may be icy until they are regroomed. Those areas that groom daily
or more frequently will not be as affected by these changing conditions. In the more northern regions there has been 1-2" or more of new snow which will improve most trails.

Grooming daily as needed. Conditions: Excellent.
AFTERHOURS SKI TRAIL - Brule River State Forest
Brule, WI
The trail was completely re-smoothed on 3/5 after it received heavy use for the Riverview Loppet Ski Race. Track was set on Entry and Exit trails. The base is very hard so the trail is very fast. On March 6th the track will be layed on the rest of the trail.

BLUE HILLS TRAIL
Bruce, WI
Conditions for skating were very good to excellent as of Thursday, March 1 on the EastSideTrail, and excellent on the WestSideTrail. Temperatures reached the mid to upper thirties, clouds prevailed, and sticky snow was noted only on a few sun-exposed hills. Most areas had a creamy surface that provided great edge control and very good glide. The striding track is in good shape on both the East and WestSideTrails, although a bit icy in some areas.

TELEMARK SKI TRAILS

3/9 - XC trails open: 16 - Total kilometers: 58 - New snow: 5" Packed base: 12" 16" - Trackset: 58 K - skate groomed: 46K
Two inches of new snow have fallen since Friday. All trails are in very good to excellent condition and have a single, double or triple set track.
Trails have a 16 - 20 inch packed base. The wide trails are being groomed with our LMC groomer and tiller.
.A shuttle service is available leaving Telemark at 11:00am. on Saturday morning, and arriving at 00 at 11:30. The driver waits until 11:45
before heading back up to Telemark.
