TELEMARK SNOW REPORT Friday, March 30, 2001
Telemark Resort, Cable Wisconsin, 877/798-4718, www.telemarkresort.com

IN A NUTSHELL:
XC trails open: 4 Total kilometers: 14K New snow: 0"
Packed base: 10" - 12" Trackset: 14 K Skate groomed: 14K
Tubing slope: open Snowboarding slope: open, 16"-18" base
Trail surface conditions: Well tilled surface with a solid base
Weekend forecast: High Saturday mid-30s. Low Saturday night around freezing
degrees, high Sunday in the upper 30s.
Hours: Cross country skiing & snowshoeing, 9 am to 5 pm Saturday & Sunday.
Tubing & snowboarding, 9 am to 5 pm Saturday & Sunday.

IN DETAIL:
Telemark has 14 K of the 60 K trail system open at present. Four trails are
open including the 2, 4, 5 K Birkebeiner loops, 4 K of the Caldwell World
Cup Trail, 6 K of Kortelopet Trail ( from the Tony Wise Trail into the
lodge), 6 K of the John Bauer Trail (same as the Kortelopet), Many other
trails still have good snow cover, but have very hard surfaces.

No new snow has fallen in the last ten days. All groomed trails are in good
condition and have a single set track. Trails have a 10 - 12 inch packed
base. Skating/classic trails are being groomed with our LMC groomer and
tiller. We expect to be open for XC skiing on weekends through the end of
March.

The Birkebeiner Race Trail was rolled and tracked March 12 by the American
Birkebeiner Foundation from the Fish Hatchery Park near Hayward to McNaught
Road near Telemark. Tracks for classical skiing were set. You can expect a
firm base with a soft surface. Skiers are welcome to ski to or from the
Birkie Trail and Telemark Lodge without buying a trail pass and are invited
to purchase a pass to ski the other outstanding trails. Tickets can be
purchased at the Hytte (Hut) Rossignol Demo Center near the lodge.
