There will be ski races at Elver Park, Madison, tonight, Friday, Feb. 1. Registration will be in the park shelter from 5:30-6:45 pm.
A shorter (3K) "First-timer" race will begin at 6:50, with the main races (5 and 10K) starting at 7:00 pm. Actual courses will be determined and marked late this afternoon. Rock skis are recommended. Race fees are $2, $3 and $6 for MadNorSki members and $3, $5 and $8 for non-members. Racers are advised to use caution be courteous to other skiers, likely to be present on the course. Three volunteers are desperately needed to help with registration (1) and marshall the course (2). Please contact me via email, or at 224-4550 if you can help. Volunteers should arrive at the shelter by 6 pm. Volunteers will receive a certificate good for future race registration, that can be transferred to other skiers. We hope to race through mid-March pending discussion and permission from the city.
