Well it never ceases to amaze me even though I live
3 miles from the park, but Blue Mounds state park has excellent skate sking
conditions this morning. You can use your good skis in the campground, which was
smooth enough to ski before daylite. The park has complete snow cover, it
looks like winter. I was able to ski around the mound, though i did not do
the first long downhill to the northeast, but cut across the higher up trails.
Trails were totally excellent with the exception of caution needed coming down
into the campground and some larger icy sections from the campground to the
pool. After you cross the road, go left above the pool , great snow up there. It
was about 20 degrees there this morning, if we get some clouds today things will
still be good tomorrow. Carl has trail report on his message machine at
