CROSS COUNTRY SKI  TRAIL REPORT

6-8" of new snow across the region Thursday evening. Forecast calls for freezing rain/ice Friday evening turning to snow around midnight with 4 6" accumulation. Sat.: Blowing snow with 4-6" accumulatio�n. Note: Conditions represented in this report are based on the time at which they were submitted, which in many cases, was prior to any new snowfall. Trails groomed on Thursday may or may not have been re-groomed since new snowfall.


ABR TRAILS
Ironwood, MI
3/6 - Still excellent, firm skating and tracks, we groomed the skate lanes today. 2 inches of new snow today.

AFTERHOURS CROSS COUNTRY SKI TRAIL/BRULE RIVER STATE FOREST

3/4 - Trails are in excellent condition. That pretty much says it all.

AMERICAN BIRKEBEINER TRAIL
3/8 - Today the trail is being groomed with the Pisten Bully. They will pack from OO south to the Fish Hatchery first. The trail will then be packed from OO north to the Powerline. Classical tracks will not be set today due to the additional snow fall and freezing rain that is anticipated. Additional packing will occur later this weekend and tracks will be set after the storm system has passed.

BEAR CROSSING SKI TRAILS

Sunday 3/3/02 we were able to retrack the trails and they are in very good condition. Hopefully, the colder temperatures will persist for awhile and the trails should hold up very well.

BEAVER BROOK SKI TRAIL
Spooner, WI
Substantianal snowfall has resulted in a large number of trees hanging over the trail making it impassable for grooming. Once the trees are removed the trail will be groomed.

BLUE HILLS TRAIL
2/27 - All of the WestSide and about of the EastSideTrail were tracked for skating & striding with a Tidd Tech Monday, Feb. 25. The remainder of the EastSide was groomed Tuesday (Feb. 26) -- including setting a track for all but the two most distant loops of the EastSideTrail. With light snow Sunday and again Tuesday, this provided excellent skiing today (Wednesday, Feb. 27) with a firm base, sunny skies and temperatures in the teens. Best conditions of the winter.

Surface snow: 9 - 11 inches Approximately 50 KM of the Telemark/North End/Kortelopet 65 KM trail system have been groomed for skating. This includes the Birkebeiner Loops, Tony Wise Trail, John Bauer Trail (to Kortelopet split), Kortelopet Trail, Berard Connection, North End Trail, Sven Wiik, Caldwell and Marty Hall World Cup trails. Approximately 50 KM of classical tracks have been set on the Birkebeiner Loops, Tony Wise Trail, John Bauer Trail (to Kortelopet split), Kortelopet Trail, Berard Connection, North End Trail, Sven Wiik, Caldwell and Marty Hall World Cup trails.
Trails and tracks are in excellent condition. All trails were groomed Saturday or Sunday morning. The Bill Koch, Kortelopet and Treland trails were groomed Tuesday.

TIMBERLAND HILLS SKI TRAILS
